SPRING BAZAAR PARTICIPANTS

9AM.art

9AM.art is a San Francisco based abstract mixed media artist. I mostly paint abstract florals and vases. Picking up a bunch of flowers on your grocery runs or dropping a heartbeat at the sight of a beautiful vase at a thrift store or a craft store- all these moments are our hidden yearnings to take them home and create a space that is our own and perfect to us. These paintings embody these beautiful moments we want to cherish in our homes. Giving a beautiful name to each vase is synonymous to living with it as an entity close to our hearts. Whether it resembles your name, or it reminds you of someone special, these Original artworks are exclusive editions with no print reproductions. Morning time after breakfast is my utmost creative rush hour, which is why the name 9AM.art. I paint without a plan, allowing the brushes to reveal hidden yearnings on the canvas. Some patrons have defined my style as Van Gogh-ish!

The series incorporates a diverse range of artistic mediums including orthographic drawings, watercolors, collages, cross-stitch, and bead embroidery. Rachel Cowan

My grandparents gave me a pen-and-ink set years ago as a gift, and ever since, I have been a calligrapher. This naturally led to making cards, and I started making pop-up cards during the pandemic as therapy. A request to fix a friend's necklace led to making jewelry, often featuring Swarovski(R) crystals and Native American carved fetishes. The act of creating brings me peace and joy . . . I hope my creations bring you the same!

Salt Weather

Hi! I'm Jessica, and I live and work in San Francisco. I think that everyday objects should and can be beautiful and unique. This work is made from porcelain, using a stain to color the clay body during production. Made primarily on the wheel, all pieces are hand made by me. In keeping the glaze matte, I aim to highlight the natural surface of the pieces. I am inspired by colors of the sea and sky, and the delicate imperfections of hand made items.

Falling within my broader "Loss Spectrum" project, the "All We Are" series incorporates a short poem from a participatory performance collaboration into abstract acrylic paintings and digital collages made from scanned medium format negatives. The poem reads, "We are all / all we are / is each other," and is my call to treat each other with more care. Each piece carries the intention that we reinvigorate compassionate action to meet the societal and environmental challenges of this moment, even amidst various grieving processes.
